DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

The department of Applied Science is the first step of ladder to rung up B.Tech. Degree, on which various professional courses take a stand. The department motivates the students with great enthusiasm. It aims at developing the dormant facilities to young scholars by teaching English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics, Electrical and Electronics and Machine Drawing and imparting strong basic subject knowledge and improving communication skills with English and PDP classes.

The objectives of teaching these courses are to enable the engineering graduates to acquire proficiency and expand the skills to communicate efficiently to handle the future jobs in industries. The department aims at making the budding technocrats well equipped and well versed in their prospective professional careers.

The department has seven well equipped laboratories that fulfill the requirement of experimental work of B.Tech. Degree course. Besides several special experimental set-ups are created from time to time which serves to create interest in students. This is in addition to the RTU defined syllabus. Qualified faculties continuously supervise lab work. The students are expected to perform beyond mere standard experiments.
The Departmental Labs are as Follows :

Engineering Chemistry Lab :
This lab has a wide range of equipment. The lab is aptly prepared to impart education in Chemistry in a neatly designed, spacious and well-ventilated laboratory with a capacity to accommodate 30 students. The lab is aesthetically designed with polished ceramics tiles, separate balance room and chemical store room. It provides students with a practical approach towards the various techniques used in engineering application. Practical awareness is inculcated and students are trained both quantitatively and qualitatively during the lab sessions so that their understanding and problem solving abilities can be enhanced.

Engineering Physics Lab :
This is the basic science lab which is common for all branches of first year with facilities for the group of 30 students to carry out experiments independently. The lab is well-equipped and enables students to understand the fundamentals of Engineering Physics.

English Language Lab :
This lab is focusing to develop the students’ language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English. It also trains the students on the accent of Received Pronunciation. It provides an ample of opportunities to enhance their language in the globalized scenario. It also improves their communication skills and makes them employable and competent. Moreover it focuses the students’ personality development and soft skills to make them as a refined human being.

Workshop Lab :
The machines required for day to day functioning / fabrication are installed in the Machine shop, Welding shop, Fitting shop, Carpentry and Foundry. Basic practices are being performed by the students to understand the various operations to be deal in industry.

Practical Geometry and Machine Drawing Lab :
The back-bone of mechanical engineering is the engineering drawing. With this we understand that what we have to make and of which shape, size and up to what accuracy we require.

Electrical and Electronics Lab :
Electrical and Electronics Lab provide the basic knowledge of Electrical and Electronics equipments, their working and their uses. As B.Tech. I Year students are new for the engineering field, they need basic ideas of field, which is tried to covered in this laboratory.

Computer Programming Lab :
Welcome to the Computer Programming Lab developed at AIET, Alwar. The interactive experiments in this lab will give the students an opportunity for learning and better understanding of the basic concepts and constructs of Computer Programming.

Introduction of fundamentals of DOS and Windows, C Programming exercise on simple statements, control statements, Arrays, Matrices, Strings, Functions and Recursions, Structures and Unions, Bit operations, Pointers, Dynamic Memory allocation, Files and Macros.

    STRUCTURE AND DURATION : Following program is run by the AIET-Alwar and is available for the student of India & Abroad.
  • B.Tech (Morning / Evening) - 4 Years
  • B.Tech (Lateral Entry) - 3 Years

  • GRADUATION AND DEGREE :
    Students who have successfully completed all examinations of their selected course will be awarded the
  • Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) by the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.

  • ENTRY REQUIREMENT :
  • B.Tech. (Morning / Evening) :
  • The minimum qualification is 10+2 (Class XII) with 45% marks for General candidates (40% for SC/ST/OBC) and with the subject group Physics & Mathematics as Compulsory subjects and Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Sc. and Biology as optional subject (anyone of the optional subjects) of any recognized Board or any other equivalent recognized examination.
  • B.Tech. (Lateral Entry) :
  • The minimum qualification is Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) and 10% seats are reserved to take admission in third semester directly.

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE :
    Interested candidates are required to submit the following :
  • Application form that can be obtained from college website or directly from college campus.
  • Attested certificate copy of the entire educational certificate.
  • Should also produce any original certificate at the time of admission.
  • Registration fees non refundable.
  • Candidate should also provide AIEEE, RPT, and Gate Score Card.
  • SC, ST & OBC cast certificate should also be provided.
  • Residential proof (Domicile) should be provided
  • Candidate must submit twelve past post size photograph.

The department having well constituted Science Society of faculty members and students of applied science which organize the various Seminar / Conferences and take care of the department’s development activity.
