DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

Electronics & Communication Engineering Department is one of the core departments of AIET and was established in 2005 to meet the growing requirement of practical design engineers. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate level in various areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of Electronics and Communication systems.

Promoted the establishment of centres of excellence in niche technology areas to nurture the spirit of innovation and creativity among faculty and students. Provided ethical and value based education by promoting activities addressing the societal needs.
Enabled students to develop skills to solve complex technological problems of current times and also provide a framework for promoting collaborative and multidisciplinary activities.

OUR MAJOR STRENGTHS :
State of the art laboratories as per University Norms. R&D Facility to the students in various domains such as Embedded System, VLSI, Bioelectronics etc.
Department improvises the Bread Board based Self Learning methodology in Various Labs. Department also develops the training kits for its Labs with Students. Conjointly of these facilities the department also involves in the project development of other departments of AIET in various domains such as Mechatronics, Computer Vision, Automation etc.

The Department is equipped with excellent infrastructure and state of the art equipments to explore the technological challenges in the areas of Electronics, Telecommunication Networks, Embedded system, Signal Processing and software Engineering. The course curriculum is subjected to regular updates based on interaction with the scientific community and inputs obtained from the industries so as to facilitate better comprehension of the cutting edge technologies. Highly experienced and dedicated faculty imparts quality training to students with stress laid on application of engineering fundamentals to problem solving in the following state of the art laboratories :

Digital Electronics Lab :
The Digital Electronics lab is equipped with all the equipments and components including discrete component kits, logic gates ICs, A to D & D to A Converter, CMOS to TTL & TTL To CMOS Trainer , Binary Switches, Various type counters etc. The lab has been developed well with the use of bread board to make students understand the basic circuit designing.

Microprocessor Lab :
Microprocessor Lab consist of 8085 microprocessor kits with interfacing study cards, temperature controller and traffic light controller to help students to understand the basic programming skills on hardware.

Microwave Lab :
The microwave lab is developed with microwave benches, Klystron tubes and other microwave devices such as couplers and circulators etc. to attain practical knowledge to the students of this growing field.

Communication Lab :
This lab contains the facility of analog and digital modulation kits like DSB/SSB AM Transmitter Trainer, Carrier Demodulator & data reformatting Receiver Trainer, Frequency Modulation & demodulation Trainer, FM Radio Receiver Trainer to help students to understand the practical implementation of the theory covered in the classroom.

Wireless Communication Lab :
This lab has the facility of various antenna trainer, Satellite Communication trainer, RADAR Trainer, CDMA Trainer and other trainer to understand the basic practical phenomena of the various advanced communication techniques.

VLSI and Optical Fiber Lab :
VLSI and Optical Fiber lab has the facility of various Optical fiber trainer kits to verify the Optical fiber transmission and VLSI development platform to verify the various digital designs.

Electronics Engineering Design Lab :
This lab is developed well with the Op Amp trainer kits, CRO, Power Supply, function generator to make students proficient in the analog design with the help of Op Amp and 555 timer like differentiator integrator multivibrator etc.

Industrial Electronics Lab :
Industrial electronics lab contains various Semiconductor power devices like DIAC, SCR, Inverter, thyristor chopper and other components to help the students to verify the characteristics of these devices.

EMI Lab :
EMI Lab contains various transducers, LCR-Meter, Q-Meter, Frequency Generator and other measurement instruments to help students to understand various measurement techniques.

Electronics Research and Development Lab :
This lab lets the students to avail the various facilities to develop various projects within the department. For the minor and major projects curriculum around 50 projects are developing by the students every year.

    STRUCTURE AND DURATION : Following program is run by the AIET-Alwar and is available for the student of India & Abroad.
  • B.Tech (Morning / Evening) - 4 Years
  • B.Tech (Lateral Entry) - 3 Years

  • GRADUATION AND DEGREE :
    Students who have successfully completed all examinations of their selected course will be awarded the
  • Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) by the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.

  • ENTRY REQUIREMENT :
  • B.Tech. (Morning / Evening) :
  • The minimum qualification is 10+2 (Class XII) with 45% marks for General candidates (40% for SC/ST/OBC) and with the subject group Physics & Mathematics as Compulsory subjects and Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Sc. and Biology as optional subject (anyone of the optional subjects) of any recognized Board or any other equivalent recognized examination.
  • B.Tech. (Lateral Entry) :
  • The minimum qualification is Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) and 10% seats are reserved to take admission in third semester directly.

    APPLICATION PROCEDURE :
    Interested candidates are required to submit the following :
  • Application form that can be obtained from college website or directly from college campus.
  • Attested certificate copy of the entire educational certificate.
  • Should also produce any original certificate at the time of admission.
  • Registration fees non refundable.
  • Candidate should also provide AIEEE, RPT, and Gate Score Card.
  • SC, ST & OBC cast certificate should also be provided.
  • Residential proof (Domicile) should be provided
  • Candidate must submit twelve past post size photograph.

SWORD (SOCIETY OF WIRELESS OUTRIDERS FOR RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), IMPACT
Sword is a technical society of Electronics & Communication Engineering department and was launched in September 2006 on the auspicious occasion of Teacher’s Day. At present the federation consists of 32 members with all students, 2 faculty members and 2 lab Staff members.
Formation of SWORD is actually aimed to provide a strong and common platform for all the budding Engineers of Electronics & Communication to build themselves into diligent, versatile and professional Engineers who will take this branch to extreme heights of success.
The main motive of SWORD is to bring-up technical personality with clear vision of mankind, technology and research. SWORD involves in grooming the students in their social and extracurricular activities while IMPACT focuses on the technical (aptitude, reasoning etc) grooming of the students.

RECENT ACTIVITIES ORGANIZED BY THE SOCIETY :

  • Conducted one day workshop on Recent Trends in Embedded Systems by Indeyes Technologies, Noida.
  • Organized one day seminar on CHAMPS- 2012 A Hunt for India’s Super Technogenius by PROGROUP.
  • Conducted technical aptitude test.
  • Conducted two days Workshop on robotics by Robosapiens.
  • Conducted 30 hours Workshop on Designing & Fabrication of Power Supply (Regulated & SMPS).
  • Organized 70 hours training on Industrial application of Micro Controller.

PROJECTS DEVELOPED BY STUDENTS :

Electromyogram : EMG has been developed by the students of the EC department to capture the small electrical signals generated by the muscle. EMG is used for those people who are physically challenged. With this system one can read the body potential through electrodes. This project consists of instrumentation amplifier, Low pass filter, High pass filter to pass the desire signals and Voltage comparator to compare the body voltage with the reference signals.
Home Security System : In this project a complete home security system has been developed by the final year ECE students with the help of microcontroller. This project detects the disturbance to various sensors like IR sensor, LDR, smoke detector sensors and use Alarm and GSM modules for information purpose.
Touch Screen Appliances Control System : Touch screen technology is used by the final year students during the major project. Basically this project is replacing the existing switches with the touch screen technologies for its user friendly and smooth uses.
SIM Card Based Prepaid Energy Meter using Microcontroller : A prepaid energy meter is developed by the students to reduce the human effort by the government to note and handover the bills to the customers. This microcontroller based project is using GSM modem and energy and water meter connected with the microcontroller.
Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) : IVRS is developed to allow callers to interact with the communication system over the phone. IVRS used to enable the caller to retrieve information from database like marks and attendance of students. It will reduce the human interaction on the other end.
